Does the Library have the textbooks I need for class?
The BMCC Library does its best to have copies available of textbooks for every class. Most of the time these books are kept on Reserve, meaning they can only be used for up to three hours at a time (to ensure everyone that needs it has a chance to use it). Reserve Books can by asked for at the Circulation Desk in the Library. Some books also have copies in our Old Textbooks section, and older editions may also be available.
To see if we have the book for your class, you can check the Course Reserves section in OneSearch.
You can search by:
- Course Code (example: ENG 101)
- Course Name (example: Introduction to Accounting)
- Book Title (example: Nestor's Microbiology)
- Or anything else related to the course or book
- (Some classes can also be searched for by the name of the professor)
If you still have trouble finding your book, you can try searching more generally in OneSearch or ask us for help in finding it.
